Anne Ulrich

Anne Ulrich is a postdoctoral researcher at the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 923 “Threatened Order – Societies under Stress” and Member of the Institute of Media Studies at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Her main research interests center around media theory and media rhetoric, especially visual rhetoric, media effects theory, the history of mass communication, political rhetoric, and contemporary forms of public speaking. Her current project examines the role of media reflection in the aftermath of 9/11. She recently published “Medienrhetorik des Fernsehens. Begriffe und Konzepte” with Joachim Knape. Her Ph.D. thesis, published in 2012, focused on visual rhetoric and the problem of credibility in TV news during the Iraq War (“Umkämpfte Glaubwürdigkeit. Visuelle Strategien des Fernsehjournalismus im Irakkrieg 2003”).
